  Advanced Institutional Management Software, a software consulting firm specializing in complete, modular solutions for health care facilities, health claim adjudication, union organizations, and correctional institutions.
  Product Manager, Senior Programmer / Analyst
  • On-going analysis, design, specification, and programming. Responsibilities spanned many complex software product lines including: Patient Treatment Planning, Public Health Care, and Correctional Facility Health Care, and as well as Claims Adjudication and Union Administration. As primary technical liaison for these products I provided clients with need assessment, specifications for their approval, schedule of delivery, finished product, and follow through.
  • Responsible for interpretation of, and software compliance with, governmental and relevant agency regulations.
  • Provide marketing support including request for information and request for proposal evaluation and written response, design and programming for product demonstration development, and presentation to prospects on-site. Work with in-house sales personnel and IBM on planning and implementing presentation tactics. Create electronic demonstration scripts for the sales staff to use during on-site presentation. Create product demonstrations for delivery to prospects on CD and other media.
  • Management of many projects that spanned all applications. Worked with other key programmers to create new development, taking into account the needs of the various applications. Have central responsibility for the programming and final implementation of these projects.
  • Key member of team that created Graphical User Interface standards for the company. Develop GUI templates for production programming and screens for final delivery to clients.

  • Hired and managed staff of five programmers to perform all system development, maintenance, and client enhancements.
  • Responsible for analysis and initiating on-going development of all software applications and conversion of product from RPG II to RPG 400.
  • Primary contact for client and in-house administrators. Responsible for decrease in turnaround time of benefit fund administration requests, resulting in an overall increase in client satisfaction.

  • Responsible for the redevelopment of two major software applications, Pharmacy and Patient Care, to provide flexible, table driven product allowing easy maintenance and customization. The resultant products enabled the user base to grow and service clients with varying needs with no increase in delivery schedule and an ultimate decrease in technical staff.
  • Managed programming staff and work schedule. Was final responsible party to client base.

  LIJHMC, now merged with North Shore University Hospital, installed and developed their Pharmacy computer system while I was employed there.
  Operations Manager, Junior Programmer
  • Responsibilities increased and accumulated, from operations manager to application programming.
  • Responsible for the installation and programming enhancement of the hospital pharmacy application. Developed many pharmacist requested programs to interface to the system that are still in use today.
  • Primary liaison to the application providers. Personally completed much of the needed enhancements to the provider's source code.
  • Managed the operation of the system and daily production schedule.
  • Trained staff pharmacists in the use of the system.

  National Purchase Diary is a market research firm that specializes in collection of data through a "diary" format nation-wide. They have since merged with Neilson.
  Manager, Editing Department
  • Originally a staff data editor, I was promoted to manager of a newly formed department intended for specialization in that area. Managed a staff of eight editors and was sole responsible party for the department's conclusions.
  • Primary liaison with the MIS department. Developed HP 3000 JCL batch editing routines.
